Ratings: 4.1 on VIVINO

Steeped in history, this exceptional white wine traces its origins to 1612, when Carthusian monks (Les Chartreux) reclaimed the ancient Étang de Pujaut lakebed in France’s southern Rhône Valley.

Draining the lake revealed fertile plain soils rich in bright limestone and clay, a distinctive terroir known as terres blanches ("white lands"). Today, the family growers of Cellier des Chartreux honor this agricultural legacy.

While the designation "Grand" serves as a poetic testament to quality rather than a formal rank, it highlights the winemaker's commitment to premium vinification. Notably, 80% of the grapes undergo traditional oak barrel fermentation to build impressive depth and texture.

Recognized by prestigious guides such as Le Guide Hachette des Vins as a remarkable, sun-kissed expression of southern Chardonnay, the 2021 vintage delivers a full-bodied, creamy, and beautifully rounded palate.

Expect a rich array of butter, vanilla, toasted almonds, and ripe tropical fruit.
