Moulin A Vent Village, Beaujolais, Burgundy, France
Grape: Gamay 100%.
Moulin A Vent is the one of the 10 Crus of Beaujolais, where Gamay grapes is made at the highest quality, with including aging in oak.
Moulin A Vent is known for being one of the top Crus that can age for up to 10 to 12 years.
Established in the 14th century, Château de la Terrière is one of the oldest estates in the Beaujolais region.
Built upon ancient Roman foundations, the château has a rich history of viticulture.
In 2003, the Barbet family acquired the estate, initiating significant renovations in both the vineyards and cellars to enhance wine quality.
This cuvée is produced from 100% Gamay grapes sourced from two specific terroirs: "Moulin à Lure" and "En Brennay."
These sites feature deep granite soils rich in minerals, contributing to the wine's complexity.
The 2017 vintage underwent manual harvesting with rigorous berry sorting, followed by a Burgundian vinification process.
The wine was then aged for 9 to 12 months in 2 to 5-year-old oak barrels, with slight filtration to preserve its full complexity.
Robust structure, complex flavor profile, and aging potential make it a noteworthy choice for enthusiasts seeking a wine that bridges the expressive fruitiness of Beaujolais with the elegance of Burgundy.
Given its current maturity, it is an excellent time to enjoy this wine, especially when paired with hearty dishes or aged cheeses.
