Founded in 1632 when Henri d'Engarran acquired the vineyard in Saint-Georges d'Orques near Montpellier, Château Engarran has produced exceptional estate-bottled wines for centuries.
Jean Vassal later received the property as a wedding gift, constructing the current historic château structure. For five generations, the estate has remained within the Grill family, today expertly managed by sisters Constance Rerolle-Grill and Diane Losfelt Grill.
The unique Saint-Georges d'Orques terroir features iron-rich red soil carpeted with rounded stones, reminiscent of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
This distinctive site imparts vibrant freshness, structure, and remarkable cellaring potential.
To achieve optimal balance and integration, maturation spans 22 months in two distinct phases: 52% of the blend matures in oak barrels for one year, followed by 10 months of full-blend aging in temperature-controlled tanks.
This distinguished red offers a drinking window of up to 15 years from the vintage.
