Situated in the Gard department across the Rhône River from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Lirac earned its official AOC Cru status in October 1947 following years of dedication from local vignerons.
While historically renowned for vibrant rosés, the appellation is celebrated today for its structured, robust red wines.
This dry, full-bodied expression reveals classic Mediterranean complexity, opening with generous black cherry, blackberry, and ripe raspberry notes.
The fruit core seamlessly gives way to subtle undertones of dried garrigue herbs and fine baking spice.
The vineyard thrives in a sunny Mediterranean climate averaging 220 to 270 days of annual sunshine, where purifying Mistral winds keep the fruit pristine.
Rooted in well-drained soils composed of sand, limestone, and classic galets roulés (rounded river stones), the vines achieve exceptional depth and mineral balance.
Masterfully produced through Cellier des Chartreux, a premier regional cooperative union, this bottling beautifully reflects the diverse, high-caliber terroirs of the southern Rhône Valley.
